Mr Barry O'Callaghan AO Chairman
Barry is a barrister and solicitor and is currently a consultant to Corrs Chambers Westgarth having been a senior partner for over 40 years. Barry is a director of several companies and is the Chairman of Downer EDI Ltd. He has a long association with Mercy; working with the Mercy Private Hospital Board for 14 years before joining the board of Mercy Health and Aged Care in 1996. Barry's work for numerous community benefit organisations has focused on education, health and aged care. He is a former Director of RMIT Graduate School of Business and Catholic Homes For the Elderly. |

Sr Kathleen Tierney RSM
Kath is the Congregation Leader of the Melbourne congregation of the Sisters of Mercy. Kath worked in Real Estate for several years before becoming a Sister of Mercy. As a Sister of Mercy, she has devoted much of her time to child and family welfare services before being elected, by her peers, to the position of Congregation Leader. She has been on the Board of Mercy Health and Aged Care for five years. |

Sr Helen Monkivitch RSM AO
Helen started her career as a registered nurse and midwife before joining the Sisters of Mercy. She has a wealth of experience in health and aged care, mission and ethics. Helen was the CEO of Mercy Hospital for Women and played a key role in the development of Mercy Health and Aged Care. She has been a Mercy Health and Aged Care Board member since its inception. She is responsible for the Group's Leadership Development and Mission integration programs and chairs the Board's Ethics Committee. |

Mr John Ballard
John joined Mercy Health and Aged Care in 2000 as Chief Executive Officer. He has extensive experience in the health and aged care industries. Since taking up his role John has overseen significant performance improvement and infrastructure renewal to position Mercy Health and Aged Care for long term sustainability and growth, specifically in services to the aged. |

Mr Denis Swift
Since December 2005 Denis has been Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Mercy Health & Aged Care. Previously Denis has held many executive positions including: Executive Director of Corporate Services, Greater Southern Area Health Service in NSW; Executive Director of Finance for Bayside Health; Manager Health and Claims Policy, Transport Accident Commission (TAC); Director of Operations/Director of Patient Services and Finance with Austin Hospital. Denis is also an Associate Member of Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants, an Associate Member of Australian College of Health Service Executives and a Member (Past Chairman), Australian Health Service Financial Management Association.
